Italian Varnish Yellow

From 36,00

Italian Coloured Varnishes provide a beautiful, transparent, and durable film. They offer optimal results when used alone or combined with our other classic oil varnishes. They can also be combined with our Oil Natural Colours and used in glazes.

They are formulated with modified resinates and rosin, combined with proven linseed oils, providing an optimal balance between hardness and flexibility necessary to protect the instrument.

Before use, it is recommended to test on pieces or parts of wood like those of the instrument to be treated to predict the colour tone that can be achieved in each case.

This varnishes can be applied by hand (with gloves) or by brush. The best results are obtained with a multilayer system, applying very thin layers, thus ensuring good drying of each layer.

They are ready to use, so they do not need dilution before usage. If necessary, check the Technical Data File for diluting instructions.

Sanding between layers is recommended during the varnishing process; the intensity depends on the quality of the dry film obtained.

Once applied, it should be exposed to natural UV light for about 10 hours. Allow 12-24 hours before applying the next layer. Old Wood recommends drying in a UV chamber with AB lamps, as this allows us to control the intensity of the light and the drying times.
