Rosin Varnish Extra Resin

From 25,00

Rosin Varnish Extra Resin is meant for special ageing techniques on classic wooden stringed instruments. They provide a beautiful, transparent, and highly resistant film.

They are also appropriate when easy chipping and hard varnish are required. RosinVarnish Extra Resin was developed and tested in collaboration with Peter Westerlund.

Before use, it is recommended to test on pieces or parts of wood like those of the instrument to be treated to predict the colour tone that can be achieved in each case.

These varnishes are ready for use, so diluting them before usage is unnecessary.

They can be applied by hand (with appropriate gloves) or by brush. The best results are obtained with a multilayer system, using very thin layers, thus ensuring good drying of each layer.

Once the varnish is applied, it should be exposed to natural UV light or under lamps for about 6-10 hours, as this allows us to control the intensity of the light and the drying times.

Complete drying of each layer is essential to guarantee the quality and durability of the final coating and to avoid future surface defects.
