The IGG Brown A+B product is a water-based primer designed for wood.
It comprises two products that enhance the wood with colour and protection. The primer is specially formulated to colour natural wood on classical musical instruments, creating a dark background before varnishing.
It is also a suitable base for oil or alcohol varnishing and can be combined with other synthetic varnishes. If you want to combine both colours, consider using our Italian Golden Ground A+B with these products.
To achieve the desired color tone, test the product on similar wood before use. Clean the workspace and seal the wood internally with a 2-3% aqueous solution of gelatin before applying the product.
Apply components A and B using a sponge in a uniform spread for homogeneous penetration. Apply component A first and let it dry under UV light. Once dry, apply component B. This product provides protective components and reduces differences between the front and back wood of the instrument.
For component A, let it dry under UV light for 1-2 hours and air dry for 2 hours before applying the next product.
For component B, air dry for 3-4 hours. Once dry, rub the wood with a clean cloth to remove any hair raised by water-based products.
